It was never going to be a straight forward thing - a Basic Channel mix has been on the cards for many years now, but the concept just needed to be as special as the source material in question. Having stated on many an occasion that Hardwax affiliates Pete and Rene, aka Scion, understood and played Basic Channel material in the way it was intended to be played, the release of Ableton’s ‘Live’ software (engineered by Monolake’s Robert Henke) convinced Mark and Mauritz that the time had come to try something new out.
